When founder Kate Kauffold approached View Marketing + Creative, The Girls Who Ball had already proven its proof of concept. Operating in Los Angeles, The Girls Who Ball was rapidly redefining female sports fandom—cultivating a passionate group of women followers, securing major stadium suites, and locking in partnerships with brands like Ardell Lashes.

However, the digital infrastructure wasn't matching the luxury reality on the ground. Operating out of a basic website and Shop Pay setup, The Girls Who Ball needed a digital identity and scalable ecosystem that felt as elevated, intentional, and "boujee" as their physical suite experiences.

View stepped in to execute a complete 360° digital evolution: an elevated brand identity, a visual-first web experience, and a custom digital clubhouse powered by Circle.so to facilitate seamless membership, ticketing, networking, and expansion.

The Challenge

While the physical experiences were top-tier, the digital backend was struggling to keep up with the momentum.

Kate was operating everything off a basic website and a simple Shop Pay setup. While it worked fine for simple event transactions, it completely lacked the infrastructure needed to foster the high-end social club that she was envisioning.

Her members were looking for connection, but there was no central hub for them to chat, view photo galleries, RSVP for local events, or network between game days. On top of that, managing ticket drops and regional expansion on the existing site was becoming inefficient as the organization grew. Kate had massive ambitions to expand into major markets like Las Vegas, Chicago, and New York. To do that, she needed more than just a site update—she needed a full brand refresh, an intuitive membership website design, and a dedicated community platform that could seamlessly scale across the country.

The View Approach & Execution

1. Brand Identity & Visual Elevation

When Kate came to us, she brought mood boards filled with high-end, luxury brands that aligned with her taste and long-term vision. She wanted The Girls Who Ball’s branding to feel sophisticated, stylish, and feminine—without ever leaning too childish or losing the grit of sports culture.

We started at the core with logo concepts. After exploring a few directions, we nailed one down and moved on to craft a custom brand identity that struck the exact balance Kate was looking for: clean, high-status serif typography mixed with energetic, sporty lines. It felt elevated, bold, and ready for The Girls Who Ball’s next chapter.

2. High-Status Membership Website Design

Once the brand identity was locked in, we moved into bringing the rest of The Girls Who Ball’s visual world to life through an intentional membership website design. We designed a custom homepage prototype to ensure our aesthetic direction matched what Kate was envisioning for her organization.

Working closely with her feedback, we refined every layout, interaction, and headline. Based on our conversations with Kate, we translated our brand identity into a sleek, visually appealing website that acts as the front door to the club. By incorporating generous negative space, high-contrast typography, and smooth scroll animations, we created a sleek and exclusive feeling website for The Girls Who Ball to continue their operations with efficiency and style. Because a good, scalable membership website design requires flexibility, we also built a CMS that would facilitate the addition of new cities as the organization grew.

3. Building a Digital Clubhouse on Circle.so

The real game-changer in this membership website design project was building out The Girls Who Ball’s digital membership hub. To transition away from basic transactional shop pages, View set up and fully customized a dedicated community platform on Circle.so, connecting it seamlessly to The Girls Who Ball’s core web presence.

To turn a fan base into a true community, The Girls Who Ball needed to create a platform that not only allowed members to attend events with ease, but also found a way to keep them interacting even outside of games and events. Our team structured the membership experience to feel like a private, VIP digital playground. The platform includes:

  • Custom Member Profiles: Giving girls space to introduce themselves and stay connected outside of game days.
  • City & Event Channels: Dedicated chat rooms categorized by cities and specific gameday meetups.
  • Seamless Event Hub: A centralized calendar where members can easily view and book suite tickets, watch party RSVPs, and wellness meetups in seconds.
  • Exclusive Media & Drops: Integrated photo galleries where members can download high-res event content, browse trending posts, and snag unreleased The Girls Who Ball merch.

4. High-Value Circle Integrations

To complete the luxury membership feel of the platform, Kate was looking to implement some custom-app-level actions while still using an off-the-shelf platform. Some examples include a custom rewards system, merch marketplace, and integrations with third party platforms like Klaviyo and Airtable. The View team explored  and built custom Zapier processes to provide The Girls Who Ball with a levels-based points system that feels seamless and integrates into a merch marketplace. The goal? Give The Girls Who Ball members the same seamless, members-first experience online that they get in person at events.

The Impact & What’s Next

What started as a set of basic web pages has bloomed into a thriving, streamlined digital ecosystem. By combining smart membership website design with Circle.so seamlessly powering the backend, Kate now has the tools she needs to bring her community to life online. Check out The Girls Who Ball’s new digital home and keep an eye out as Kate grows her community.
