Mid-Year Check In: New and Ongoing 2025 Graphic Design Trends

With 2025 already being over halfway complete (what?!), we wanted to glance at how the projected 2025 graphic design trends have held up. At the beginning of the year, we researched some graphic design trends that were quickly gaining traction; now in July, many of them are still holding strong, and new trends are emerging alongside them as well. Keep reading for our insights into new and ongoing 2025 graphic design trends.
Sticking Around

Bold Minimalism: There are a number of names for this trend, but whether you know it as bold minimalism or minimalist maximalism, this trend is here to stay. This trend is so popular because of its versatility; there’s no need to commit to either extreme of total minimalism or maximalism, but rather incorporate elements of both to create an interesting, yet balanced design. This might include clean, simple fonts with brighter colors, or a more neutral color palette paired with eclectic fonts or graphics.

Natural Forms: Even with a lot of bright colors and bold elements making a summer comeback, the use of natural forms and nature-inspired components has not lost any popularity. When designers embrace organic, fluid shapes and textures, a natural sense of movement and ease results, making it an enjoyable experience for users and the business.
In With the New

AI-Powered Design Elements: Even since our last check-in in December, the world of Artificial Intelligence has expanded immensely. It is still incredibly important for humans to be creating and designing their own work, but as AI has developed, many designers have been increasingly using it as a tool for more technical efficiency. Many designers have looked to AI to generate unique assets or custom illustrations to allocate their time in the most effective way possible.

Metallics: Metallic accents are another design trend that has started growing in the recent months. Metallic gold, silver, or bronze finishes on typography or visual assets look great against minimalist and/or dark backgrounds, allowing the metallic accent to pop and not overwhelm the design. Metallic signage makes for a memorable design, and will give your design a premium, high-tech feel.

Digital Nostalgia: As is with trends in every aspect of life, what was once old is cool again. We’ve seen a rise in popular aspects of the 90’s and 2000’s including pixelated fonts, “low-tech” elements, and brighter, neon color palettes. By combining these elements with other modern aspects and technological advancements, a larger audience can be reached, whether it be those who experienced those trends first-hand, or younger generations who are experiencing them for the first time.
With the changing seasons and ever-advancing technology, 2025 graphic design trends are being rapidly and continuously modified. As we continue to design in today’s modern world, we always keep an eye out for how trends change, and make sure our work reflects a blend of our own creativity and the eye of current users.
